Libraries/Alternate Media and Learning Resources

FIMC-VI is Florida's statewide resource center assisting local school districts with the specialized materials needs of students with visual impairments. Established in 1972 by the Florida Legislature, FIMC-VI operates under the Department of Education, Bureau of Exceptional Education and Student Services, through a grant agreement with Hillsborough County Public Schools. FIMC-VI has a professional library for resources for teachers and parents. For a list of materials or to request check-out information, contact Kay Ratzlaff at kratzlaff@fimcvi.org or call 800-282-9193.

Fee: There is no charge. Materials are produced by the Center staff, prepared by certified braille transcribers, and/or purchased by the Center. Materials are then loaned to Florida's public and private schools. Professional resources are available for a short-term loan.
