Hello all
Just trying to gather info and compare notes so to speak...
I have a 6 year old with ROP. She had total retinal detachment in both eyes as an infant. She has had laser, cryopathy, and three vitrectomies. She has had the lenses removed and the majority of her iris removed in both eyes...Pieces of her retinas have been reattched in each eye. She has light perception for sure, possibly can tell shadows from time to time. She has developed glaucoma which we control with Cosopt. She eye presses quite a bit...but will stop when reminded. Let's see...she has been diagnosed PDD-NOS...she is a bit quirky is how I put it...very routine...and will go into meltdown mode when routine is changed without ample discussion... will not eat or even try many foods...but that is getting better as she gets older. She is extremely bright, advanced in some areas...she doesn't miss a thing. I am wondering how other's children are doing that were extremely low birth weight....both medically and educationally.
