Hi,
Afraid that I don't have answers but have posed the question to some of my "experts" and will see what they suggest and get back to you.

My daughter and I are also signed up for a mommie and me swimming class. She had a cataract in her left eye, removed at 10 days and wears a long wear contact and we patch her good eye. She just turned 8 months. We had an appt this morning and I asked her doc about the class and his advise is to remove the contact during the class, participate and then put it back. He said goggles were unreliable and it is a short enough period of time that she will be fine. He said to do the same during vacation while we are at the pool and beach. Hope that is a little helpful.

Our doctor told me that there were tinted lens covers for goggles that fit into the goggles. They were less costly than say prescription goggles. Kind of like taped on lenses. Hope this helps.

Hi,
My adaptive PE "expert" said the following:
I would suggest REI, Big 5 or a company called Swimtime: 800- 835- 3272.
The American Foundation for the Blind and the National Association
for Parents of Children with Visual Impairments would like to thank
the Lavelle Fund for the Blind, Inc. and the Conrad N. Hilton
Foundation for their generous support as charter sponsors of
FamilyConnect. We are also grateful to The Annie E. Casey
Foundation and Morgan Stanley for their support.
