Echo Treatment Availability

My son was diagnosed with Stargardts the week he turned 10 years old.  It has been six months since his diagnosis.  We have been busy working with the school to get him the necessary tools he needs.  We are encouraged by what we have read regarding Dr. Nolan's Echo treatments.  However, from what I have read, I am unclear as to whether the medication is still available and if it is, for how long?  I would love for this to be an option for my son, but would have a fear of starting a treatment which would not be available for long.  I'm afraid that would be harder for him to deal with.  Also, if there are any known side effects to taking the echo treatments in the long term.  Any information would be greatly appreciated!

    my daugther now 10 was dignoised with stargardt last april. i took her back to her specalist this past wensday he he is looking into the echo treatments because he hasn't heard of it and there is more positive"s then negatives, he is going to research on these treatments. i do know that without it being fda aproved insurance wont cover it. i'm willing to do what ever is possable to help my daughter but until i know more about the treatment i'm scared to try

    Still researching ECHO treatments as I am always a bit uneasy about doing more harm than good. Noticed Dr Nolan's business website also includes aesthetic laser solutions which makes me worry he is really a dr all about making money. http://www.aestheticlasersolutions.com/about.htm

    Would really like to read updates from families who have written of positive results in past. I pray their child is doing well and need reassurance to look at Dr Nolan's claims for a treatment
