nystagmus with Achondroplasia (dwarfism)

Posted by racitraci7@yahoo.com on 2/1/2010 9:25:44 PM.

Hello, our son Noah 5 months old was diagnosed with Achondroplasia 2 weeks after birth and has recently been diagnosed with Nystagmus.  The PO is not sure whether it is sensory or motor nystagmus at this point, since his retna(s) are still immature.  Has anyone out there heard or seen a child with dwarfism diagnosed with nystagmus?  Our PO has not seen any case and has not come up anything in her research and medical journals.  At this point we're unsure if this is a rare case or if there are other cases out there we're just not hearing about.  Any information would be helpful or any reference(s) as well.  Many Thanks, Traci, mom of 2, Noah 5mo (little person) and Matthew 17mo (average height)
