“First Steps” for Babies and Toddlers
up to age 5 and children who are blind with multiple disabilities up to age 21.
The VCB Program for Blind Infants and Toddlers is a pathway for parents of children who are blind to learn about and acquire the rehabilitation, support and social services for which they are eligible from state, local and federal programs, as well as from private, nonprofit organizations like VISIONS.
Children participate in groups to improve their physical development and socialization skills, while parents learn how to advocate for their children with visual impairments.
Parent(s) must attend. Siblings are welcome.
All activities are based on the needs of each child, and allow them to participate in activities at his/her own ability level. Support and resources for parents are provided, and are offered in English and Spanish.
