Early Intervention Program

This program is a coordinated program of educational intervention and prescribed therapies to infants and toddlers who are blind or visually impaired, including those with additional disabilities.

Services provided are designed to ameliorate the effect of the child's disability. With full participation of the parent/caregiver, services include evaluation for determination of eligibility, child/family assessment, development of an Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP), and service delivery.

Services are provided based on each child's individual needs and address the skills that all children must learn as well as the adaptive skills used by those who are blind or visually impaired. Services include special education services, vision and sensory training, and orientation and mobility training. Therapies provided include speech/language, occupational and physical therapy.
